Angry Big Problem

So i finally get everything put into my car and take it for a test drive

I recently put a new IAC/ISC and new fuel filter in my 3000gt hoping it would fix my idle.

Well as im driving down my road i go to stop and push in my clutch and sure enough my car loses all RPMs and dies so i turn it back on but have to give it gas so it wont die and turn around and drve back home. When i get home i stop and turn the car off and my engine is smoking.

I let it sit for a while and went to turn it back on and struggled for a few seconds turned on but immediatly lost RPMs and turned off

I now went to try again and it wont turn over at all anymore.

Does anyone know whats going on

Does your exhaust smell like unburnt fuel?

If so, check out your plugs and wires, when was the last time they were both replaced? If you don't know the answer, change them.

Also check for vacuum leaks with soapy water at every fitting along your intake system, preferably while your engine is still cold so you wont burn yourself when you rest your hand on valve cover..

Does the car sound really rough? Almost diesel-like. If so, I'd lean towards a bad MAF sensor or maybe just an unplugged MAF sensor.

How long ago did this problem arise? Was it gradual or suddenly? Is your check engine light on? What year is your car? (OBD1 testers are cheap and can pull engine codes).

ok to add some more info the car is a 91 3000gt base

the car has been having the idle problem and thats why i replaced the ISC/IAC and thought that that would solve it.I just replaced the plugs.

The car didnt seem rough but an example would be a would rev the car to say 4k to 5k RPMS and let off the gas in neutral sitting still and the RPMS would dip way down to say 100 to 200 and almost die and then shoot back up.

I cant check the gas because the car will not turn on anymore

Hope this helps

It would still run if it had a bad MAF sensor.. so i dont think thats your problem

so your saying that the rpms are jumping up and down?

could be your TPS sensor, i turned mine all the way clockwise and it fixed the erratic idle and bucking in 1st gear.

yes the rpms will be fine until i approach a stop or slow to turn and then the rpms will drop all the way down and the car will either almost turn off or turn off to where i have to stop and turn the car back on.

just tryin to figure out whats going on so i can actually drive the car without it dying on me every stop

oh also the car is firing up and running again idk what happened yesterday.

check your TPS sensor man theres actually a "How-to" on it and ways to check its good and make sure that its set-up properly
