Default Baby car seats?

After about 3 hours of trying to fit a car seat into my 3000gt I have officially given up. These cars just were not made for them to fit in and let you fit in there at the same time. I have 2 kids, and one is old enough to fit into a forward facing seat and that fits in there fine, but my wife had our second baby on October 20th, and now im back to using one of those bulky rear facing car seats also. This just wont work. The only way the seat would fit in there is by pushing the passenger seat all the way forward and leaning it up. Not sure if any of you have tried to sit in your cars like that, but its impossible. I guess it doesnt help that im a big guy, but even mini-me couldnt fit in there with that damn seat.

Anyways, enough with my ranting about mitsubishi's thoughtlessness on this issue. What im trying to find out is if mitsubishi may have realeased a special car seat that would actually fit in our cars, or if anyone happened to find one that fit better than most. Im out of ideas except for buying a second vehicle, or possibly trading my car in for another vehicle. Thanks for any help you guys can give me. I know this isnt your usual power and performance thread, but I figure there are some parents out there that still made it through having kids and managed to keep their 3000gt's and stealths.

Car seats fit, there was a local guy with a 95vr4 who had one.

It wasnt even that cramped.

Dude, it's a two-door coupe. A GT sports car, not a family sedan. Give up on the car seats. That's what Mitsu made the Evo for.

I agree with you there, but there is the simple fact that my wife now wants me to get rid of my car to get a family vehicle, and it wont be an evo, i guarantee you that. Wish it would be, but it wont.

I dunno, but I'd be trying to get some of the Recaro baby seats, those things are so cute haha. Imagine the kid in the back seat during an autoX

I have 2 kids, a 5 year old daughter and 2 1/2 year old son. People laugh when they see a car seat in the back. My daughter now sits in a just a simple booster that elevates her. There is no back to it so she can sit behind the drivers seat. My son is in his car seat on the passenger side and when I drive him to daycare I just move the passenger seat as far forward as possible. Not much room but it works. Another couple of weeks and the VR4 will go into storage and back to the old 94 Grand Prix for the winter so the kids will have more room.
