I second the rear-facing infant seat in the middle on the "hump".

Secures just fine, seats go back around it just fine. Can't get into my center console box, but I just relocated everything to the glove compartment.

Disabled front pax air bag, 9 year old sits on her booster seat in the front and LOVES IT! She won't ride with her mom in the XTerra if I'm going the same direction in the 3k.

Not the most comfortable in the world, but I only drive him around every once in a while, the base doesn't interfere with anything when the seat's not in it (it stays in the trunk unless being used), and I'm not giving up my car dammit!!

Yes, I am the boss. Yes, she knows it. Yes, she wanted me to get rid of the car. It's still there. What was that line from the Thin Red Line, George Clooney: "The mother runs the house, but the father is the boss." Best way to run a household... u pussy-whipped mf'ers need to grow a pair.

OK, I'll nominate the Pontiac Aztek. Car seats, no problem; fuel mileage, better than an SUV; performance, better than an SUV or minivan; sound system, pretty darn good if you get the Pioneer upgrade; visuals, at least it ain't a minivan... (I prefer to think of it as "edgy and aggressive", not "ugly"...)

I feel sorry for you other married guys: I'm blessed with a wife who won't let me sell the Stealth! She's a sports fan, too. What a keeper!

Here's a hint for all you guys who are thinking about getting married and are worried about keeping your S/3K: propose to her while sitting in the car. The emotional bonds this act will create between her and the car should help you avoid the argument altogether.

We never tried to put a car seat in the back, but both boys absolutely love it when I put one of their seats in the front and they get to ride in Daddy's car. (No passenger airbag, front-facing car seat.)

I personally would rather sport a minivan than an Aztek! They are hideous!

Wonderful! That's the word you're looking for.

OK, they aren't everyone's cup of tea, can you believe there are folks out there that think S/3K's are ugly, too? Some color combinations do look pretty close to hideous, but black is sharp. (Whoever thought that Canary Yellow would look good two-toned with the black underbody should be shot.) But on balance, I love our Aztek. The vehicle is a nearly perfect fit of functionality and performance, and it ain't no !@#$% minivan.

like I said I would rather sport a minivan, but I would be interested in more of a mazda6 wagon, or legacy GT wagon if I needed a "car" with more space. Hell I'd probably even take a POS pt cruiser turbo before an aztek. lol

I used to think Pontiac Azteks were the ugliest car/truck/suv ever made. Then I saw the Honda Element.

Hate to revive an old thread, but I figured it was better than creating a new one and have everyone add the link to this one...

About 3 years ago I sold my 3kgt due to my wife and I having twin boys. My lease is coming up and now that the boys are in a forward facing car seats I'm thinking what to get for a new car. My heart is with the 3kgt but in reading some of these threads I'm a little hesitant with the forward facing seats in a 3kgt...

Now to my question, does anyone have any pictures of there car seats installed? I'm curious to know how far up the seats need to sit to still give the backseat passengers (aka my boys) some leg room?

This still might not be the right time to go back to a 3kgt, but I figured I should at least think about it...

Thanks for the help!

-Jeff
