i have a 99 3000gt dohc non turbo automatic. the crank pulley recently went bad and i had bought a used 3sx stock size light weight pulley from ebay. i removed the old one with no problem but wen i attempt to torque down the new one the crank just spins. i do not have an impact gun. and the car is an auto so there is no putting it in gear and holding the break. i am afraid if i lock the cams that wen i torque it the belt may jump a tooth! any suggestions to help me with my little problem would be great. and if anyone knows the crank bolt torque spec and if i should use a little bit of lock tight on the bolt. thanks!

Get an impact gun!
Or take off your starter and block the crank with a pry bar by the ring gear while you torque your bolt. But please do not block by the cam gear
i was thinkn that too but was just wondering if there was an easier way. and im doing this in my drive way with hand tools i have to air compressor so air tools are out of the ?
Get a chain wrench. I was having the same problem, as i did my 120k this weekend, and replaced the crank pulley with the lightweight 3sx stock size pulley. A friend brought one over and wrapped it around and took care of it easily. They go for like 20 bucks around here
i used an impact on my stealth, but iv worked on other vehicles and when an impact wasnt available i used a flywheel holder. My flywheel holder is used on my outboard boat racing engines. Its basically a rubber strap with a fancy handle deal on it. just a thought
i seen sumting like that on tv once lol but it was for like loosing pipes or taking off stubborn lids. i can definatly see somthing like that working though. i am going to go to autozone and napa tomorrow and see what they can do for me.
Do NOT use an impact on the crank. That is the worst idea ever.
Put a pry bar or a large screwdriver in one of the vanes of a brake rotor and let it jam against the brake caliper bracket. The crank can't spin anymore and now you can tighten to torque WITH A TORQUE WRENCH.
