ran out of time on the swap today. the 93 talon tsi i'm driving dropped a cylinder. turns out the #1 injector plug came unclipped. whoops. so do to troubleshooting we didn't get as far on the 3000 as a complete startup. but the engine is completely in and bolted up. all we are missinig is the wire haness the coolant lines and the halfshafts. the only possible problem we have found is that this engine is without a doubt taller. about 3/4" more from cams to crank. we're taking bets on whether or not the hood will fit. hmmm. excuse for new hood maybe...

The stock hood will fit the 3.5 unless you did something really weird. Mine fits fine.

not really no. the most you can really bore a 6g72 block to safely is 3.1L. a 6g74 can be bored out to 3.7, 3.8, possibly even 4.0L and still be safe. and a 3.5L would spool the turbos faster. there is no replacement for displacement. holds true whether you are a ricer or a muscle head.

drove the 3500 home today. runs like a charm. and the motor is so quiet you could sleep next to it. not the exhaust though. lol

It would be like doing a standard tt conversion with less room to work, and some cutting and grinding in some points.
