I'm plenty happy with my dohc...sure I love the twin turbos and the awd but I don't need all that fancy shit so I can kill myself. My NA is fine for me I'm not into racing anyway. The look is why I bought my car!

Well I owned the R/T non-turbo....and I actually raced it on a course as well. Of course I needed to buy a tranny after a while but all in all it ran great and didnt have any major problems that most cars dont have. Most cars have all types of problems...its seems that 3S mainly have ignition/ECU problems....but others have oil feed problems and end up throwing a rod. All in all no mater what kind of car (excluding Toyota ) you are going to have problems. Plus when you take in account the age and mileage of our cars. As for the N/A part of this thread....my N/A rivaled many cars from forced induction to v8 to v10s....but it wasnt a straight track either . Anyways Ill stop rambling and not making sense. lol

I bought my 93 ES 14 years ago. Sure I wanted a RT TT, it was my dream car and still is. Use to sit in school and reread the brocures everyday. Of course I couldn't afford one then and through the years other responsibilities like family, job, houses, etc. just kept putting it off.

I have now finally gotten to the point where I can do the things I have wanted to for so long like a complete ES to RT conversion minus ECS and ABS with a engine rebuild then fresh paint. After starting I thought of trying to squeeze some extra horse power out of the engine but after I read the "bible" and "philosophy on upgrades" I decided against it. The car has been EXTREMELY reliable so I'm just going to keep it stock minus an intake to dress the engine bay up some.

Once this is done, I will look for a low mileage mint RT TT either 93 or 96 and more than likely keep it stock as well. I will say that once you start working on your car it becomes addictive and of course you are going to want to do mods to make it run stronger... I thought that way, and even started to price the TT conversion but like a lot of people have said, might as well get the RT or VR4 for the same money.

I would be lying though if I said I wouldn't consider doing a single turbo or a supercharger to the ES after I get the TT. Just can't help yourself with these cars. They are worse than smoking!!!!!!!!!!

its the reality man these cars make me sad

They make u want to mod them sooo bad. Then kick u in the nuts whenever u feel ur getting somewhere.

I dont know a single 3s owner who doesnt know how to pull their tranny. Or check for leaky caps in their ecu.

Then you have the various clubs that if you arent in it yet u probably will be one day.

The broken tranny club
The spun bearing club
The dead oil pump club
The jumped timing club
The dead ECU club
The broken transfer case club
The blow turbo club
The "my car wont start and ive tried everything" club
The my car has been down for more than 1 month club
The starter died and left me stranded club
The alternator Club
The WTF how does this happen! Club
The blown head gasket club
The broken slave cylinder club
The broken master cylinder club
The broken axles club
The Blown front diff Club

the list goes on

Stop driving your car like a jackass, and do your preventative maintenance and you wont have to be part of any of those clubs.

And guys will tell you that their girl just magically got knocked up too right? Preventative maintenance couldn't have stopped that either eh?
