lifter tick only gets louder if your oil level drops. And if your oil level does drop, you have to worry about spun bearings. a spun bearing can sound alot like lifter tick in its early stages. Hope it is just the lifters in your case. Change the oil, and make sure it is filled all the way up to the full indicator and then let it warm up before checking again. If still getting ticking noises, you'll have to determine if the ticking is lifter generated, exhaust generated, or lower end generated. When it sounds like a a hammer on metal, it isn't the lifters anymore dorothy.... it is the path to hell.

the 3.5 l is from a mirage i belive get that book and mix it with the stealth chrysler book but i bet its the same plus the twin turbos. But im going to try to figure it out tom might even be the oil what filter was used? Also my vr4 had a compression at 10:1 and it felt like i didnt have much power. It felt sluggish and w a dr650 and stock turbo set up it should fly. Any way check your heads first
im young so i do still live with my family, my dad thinks it could be the valves so were checking those today, he says he has lifter tick in his dodge ram sport pickup and mine is alot louder so he thinks its something worse.

Hey guys. I think I have the lifter tick problem as well. I am pretty certain because I just changed my oil and the ticking went away for 1 day and then came back. I am thinking of getting new lifters or getting a new oil pump to help eliminate the noise. Any suggestions on which one I should get...or any other tips for that matter? I am trying to learn as much as I can to get my car running smoothly, but don't want to wast money on random stuff that won't help my car. Let's face it...the ticking noise has got to go!
