Re: Will a motor from a non turbo work in a turbo car?
Yes, or else you will be limited to about 7psi. Compression is higher on the NA engine, so your detonation threshold is lower. However, some of the guys around here do the TT conversion onto their NA engines. Might want to check with them if you have already bought an NA engine.

What is thrashed about the VR4 engine? Might be cheaper to replace pistons, bearings and machine work than to attempt to make a N/A engine work

Someone didn't put the thrust bearings in correctly or something in correctly and the peices rubbed some ridges in the block. I'm going to try to get something machined but it doesn't look promising. Does anyone know where I can get just a block for my 91 Vr4?
