Will the 6 speed tranny mount to a 1st gen TT?

So long story short I blew up the motor in my 94 VR-4 and I'd like to get it back on the road for as cheap as possible. I would love to rebuild it better than it was before but that's not an option right now. Instead of dropping 3k+ for a 2nd gen motor I found a 1st gen motor for cheap and was wondering if it will still bolt up to the 6 speed tranny and also curious the differences in the wiring harness..

If it's too much hassle I won't mess w/ it but I was just curious if that motor would drop in just fine, it's a late 93 so I do know it'll have the forged crank atleast but I'm clueless on the tranny and harness.

Any helpful answers would be greatly appreciated.

They swap from single crank sensor on the end of the rear bank camshaft(first gen), to a duel one cam one crank sensor setup u will need to change harness and Ecu or modify old sensors off old engine to fit new one

I figure worst case I could hunt down the harness and ecu for pretty cheap, I'm sure my 2nd gen parts are worth more anyway. Do you know anything about the transmission difference? It might be a dumb question but I was curious if the 5 speed has a different bellhousing.

I know 94 was the last obd1 year as well so I didn't know if they made the sensor switch between 94 and 95 or from 1st gen to 2nd gen.

It sounds too good to be true to just swap the 1st gen in but that's what I was hoping for lol.

It will bolt straight up to gearbox. Just reuse ur existing sensors and exhaust system.(02 sensors) u may have to use a first gen crank sensor and wire it into the second gen loom.
Pretty much strip ur whole engine down until its just a bare block and heads and do the same to the other motor and then swap it all over. Use other engine(which will most probibly be a 2bolt main girdle). Then rebuild/upgrade ur old motor at ur own pace while still having a working car. Then when it's ready swap them back over.

I haven't torn anything apart, it's all together how it should be but it has a spun bearing.

If I wire in the 1st gen crank sensor my stock 2nd gen ecu will still read it correctly though right?

To answer your question, yes it will bolt up fine. If it is a late 93 model engine it should be a 4 bolt, which your current motor is, and you should not have to do the cas conversion.
