Yep, a real one. I don't even look at the stock "boost" gauge.

Sorry not trying to hijack but. I recently got a Vodoo MBC and hooked it up, but no matter how i adjust it (fully out or almost all the way in) it builds 9.5 psi (autometer boost gauge) from 3,000 rpm to 5500 rpm (when i shift) and wont go higher? any ideas suggestions?

Also the guage doesnt appear to be off, me and a friend tried a few different settings on the mbc and the seat of the pants horsepower didnt change at all.

Could be boost leaks. I had quite a few and after fixing them, I could hold a few more pounds of boost.

well, ive checked and rechecked every clamp but... any more then half throttle i get a second swooshing sound (sounds like the turbo's spooling but louder) and it comes from the left side of the car. Upon inspection i cant find anything loose, and i figured if something was loose i woulda blown off a hose instead of it just seeping.... I could be wrong and ill recheck again in the morning. i was messing with the mbc again and i could get it to boost under 9.5 psi but nothing over, so a leak is most likely the culprit.

Check the check valves in the brake and clutch booster lines. The one for my clutch was backwards and the one for the brake was missing. The net result was a stiff clutch and two boost leaks. I just flipped the clutch line, put a tee on it, and ran the brake booster off of it. Works great!
