I am trying to determine the differences and compatability between first and second gen tt heads and have gotten varying answers.
My understanding is that the CAS is mounted in different locations on 2nd gen heads than it is on first gen heads. That said, are there mounting points on both heads making them interchangeable or are they generation specific? If so, what is involved to convert from one CAS to the other? I have a set of ported, polished, larger valve heads I would like to pull from my 92 to put on my 95. Thanks for the help, Clayton ![]()

Here is a link on what is involved on converting the CAS.
http://stealth316.com/0-frames.htm also this site has a LOT of useful info on it for our cars. go to the "garage" section and look under "conversions" then "CAS" Last edited by mitsuman3000 : 04-07-2008 at 01:04 AM. Reason: added info |

It can be done, but if you run 92 heads on a 95 you have to use that year/style cam/crank sensors. I am running 91-92 heads in my 93.

I threw a set of 1st gen heads on my 1995, just used second gen internals, and made a bracket for the cam angle sensor on the drivers side. Other than that no problems swapping 1st gen heads to a second gen.

My understanding from Jeff's page is that timing will be off a few degrees if I use the first gen CAS on my second gen ecu.
Patryn, what did you do for a bracket? I haven't had the heads side by side to compare them yet but I would assume its fairly simple. Thanks again! |

Its not hard, just get a few pieces of aluminum or plate steel whatever, cut it weld to make a bracket. If I get the engine out of the car I'll snap a pick of my setup so you can see. Also, if you wanted to have a shop make a bracket for you they should probably be able to make one from scartch in two hours tops with both heads in hand.
