Default "Tiger Japanese Engines" Ripped me off!

Recently I purchased a JDM engine from Tiger Japanese Engines. They told me it had approx. 35,000 miles but never more than 60,000. They told me they compression tested all engines to make sure they were good. When I recieved it I started removing parts to install new ones in their place, like the water pump for instance. The cooling system piping and galleys were loaded with a thick black sludge that I had to pressure wash off to remove. Also the liquid that was still inside the engine was a dark brown metallic smelling mess. I called Tiger and they told me that it was normal, that the Japanese don't use anti freeze and that after sitting for a while, the water turns like mine did. Needless to say, even though I am a mechanic, it doesn't take a genius to see this was bullshit. The worse part of all this, and the main reason i'm writing this is MY ENGINE HAS 60 LBS OF COMPRESSION IN 5 CYLS!!! Yes, an engine with 35,000 miles that was compression tested before being sold, has 60 lbs compression. Now i'm sure many people have successfully purchased engines from these people and have no complaints, but for the few that get bilked out of $2500.00 this isn't even funny, so for the "just in case factor" I'm warning everyone that doesn't want to be one of the few suckers that bought a piece of junk, heed my warning! BTW I had a 30 day warantee. It took me longer than that to pull my engine because of job, time, family ect...but to my defense, think about it, 35,000 miles, pre tested? Anyway! I warned you! Stay away from Tiger Japanese Engines unless you like to play roulette. I lost $ 2500.00.

for me they were the biggest rip- off also i recently posted on how they send me a 93 DOHC motor but when i received it it came witm a SOHC intake and other parts. their motors are useless and since ur out of the country they know u cant file a law suit? i agree never buy from Tiger Japanese i wasted 600 for nothing on just shipping to get it and return it.

did you put some oil in the cylinders before testing? compression rings need to have oil in order to seat properly,

I've been to that place in person a couple times in Toronto, they ain't the most organized that is for sure.

Bums, should have inspected it better before shipping it out, man that really sucks.

There are like 10 JDM places with 15blocks of Tiger, they used to be really cheap too, they doubled there prices in the last year.
