1st gen dsms have intake "silencers" too inside the airbox. Maybe this is where the confusion lies.

Generally speaking, resonance isnt very good. I mean, I WOULD NEVER....remove anything that dampens resonance. Especially if the turbulent flows matched the natural frequency of the CHRA. Heard of the new space shuttle's resonance problem?

Very interesting article. Same concept applies to turbochargers. Engineers spend YEARS studying resonance. Theyre there for a reason, keep them there...

Most anything that damps resonance in turbochargers is mostly due to them wanting to quiet the turbo down as to reduce operator annoyance. They don't want the opertator to ever hear the turbo mostly.

However...LeigerReign...Has stated the rest of the reasonings why they put these things into application...How do we tell the difference? We can't. Just leave them.
