Default Possible electrical problem? Car sometimes has no power after cranking engine

About a week ago I was sitting in my car with my laptop hooked up to the Emanage because I was making a few changes to some of the maps. Anyways I changed a map and the car died because the tune wasn't right. That's normal I thought, but then I tried to start the car again and it had no power! Nothing would come on, the dash lights didn't work, power door locks, etc... So I popped the hatch to grab a flash light then noticed the rear hatch light was on. So I thought maybe the car has power again? And yes it did and it started right up. This happened another time when I was messing around with the Emanage maps and the car died. After waiting a minute everything was normal.

Now fast forward to now... Yesterday I tried to go out and start my car. Power door locks worked, turn the key to the accessory position and the dash lights come on. Then when I turned the key one more click to start the engine, nothing. Car went completely dead. All the dash lights, radio, etc were off and had no power. I turned on the overhead dome light and it was on then slowly dimmed off. I thought my battery was completely dead or something since nothing worked, but then today I went out to start the car and it works fine.

So why is it that when I turn the key to the start the car it sometimes instantly kills the power? And it kills the power to the car for a while, but if I try it again minutes later everything is fine?

Have you checked to make sure your battery terminals are good, not loose, and not corroded at all? I've seen similar things happen before.
