I can't find on radioshack.com
I went to a electronic parts store, check your local yellow pages for a more commercially oriented store. Any resistance between 75-90 ohms should be okay.

Dan's VR-4,

Glad that I could help. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.

Default So Dan . . .

Did you get the CEL when you put the DP on?
Did you do this mod?
Did the CEL go away?

You know this is the cause of my reluctance to put in a DP!!!!!

WHICH I REALLY WANT TO DO!!!!!!!

I know it is old thread but want to say that i was an idiot and was looking at HEATER wires instead of a the o2 output.
Since OBDII emission check is coming to PA i started working on O2sim again. Pulled the o2 sensor yesterday from the car i found my mistake...
Anyway i build o2sim and hooked it up to the car.
It takes about 300 miles to get a CEL so we'll see. I'll post the results.

Hey Bob what's up? This really is more for gutted cats instead of the DP, unless you go with the Stillen (which eliminates the front). So, you'd be fine putting a DP on

Mitsubishi Re: o2 simulator question

I have a Cali spyder with the 4 o2 sensors. I got the sims from Casper and wired them in using their instructions and NO resistor and they work fine for me. No cel any more (getting code 59). Casper seem to know what they are doing even with the rarity of our cars. The wiring diagram they gave me was right out of our manual and was correct (for me ) with a Cali car. They also told me a resistor would not work for my car, and they were right

That's great.
But there is nothing different between all 02Sims, the all produce the same signal.
What is code 59? Heater?
What is the difference between Cal and not-Cal wiring? I do not see how the o2 will be different.

What year car, 96? Did you get CEL codes for the after precat O2's. Code 59 is the rear bank precat heater. When I bought the O2 sims from Casper's 2 years ago I was told that they didn't handle the heater circuit. The instructions with the sims suggested leaving the O2 sensors connected to keep the heateres in the ECU circuit. I added resistors to eliminate the O2 sensors completely. Maybe they have changed the design.

Mine's a '95 and I tried the resistor first and it didn't work. Could be they changed design but I will say this , the Casper people were very knowledgable about my situation and gave me good direction. They fixed my problem and I am very happy with what they sold me.

Thanks for the reply. I don't understand, did you just try a resistor when you removed the O2's in the downpipe. What CEL codes dod you get. I agree completely, Casper's sims work great for what they were designed to do.

I know, but I'm thinking about addressing the pre-cats, at the same time as the DP chsnge and since we're post '96 and I'm REALLY hung up on the CEL issue all this is starting to make it sound "do-able." SOunds like a call to Casper may be helpful to get started with the right sim hardware and then Jeff's resistor to mask the heater and violla!!!

I think you meant gutted "Pre" cats - not the main one - right since all the O2 hardware is prior to the cat.
