Looking good!
One quick item I noticed. Anywhere that something is going to be bolted to the block, remove the paint from the mating area and chase the treads.

A person who makes unnecessary modifications to their most often import car (hence the term "rice") to make it (mostly make it look) faster. The most common modifications are (but not limited to): - Huge exhaust that serves no purpose but to make the car louder - Large spoiler on the back that looks like something Boeing made for the 747 - Lots of after-market company stickers they don't have parts from, but must be cool - Expensive rims that usually cost more than the car itself - Body kit to make the car appear lower, usually accented with chicken wire - Clear tail lights and corner signals - A "performance intake"- a tube that feeds cold air to their engine usually located in areas of excessive heat (behind or on top of the engine) - Most of these riced cars (a.k.a. rice rockets or rice burners) are imports; Honda Civics, Accords, Integras, CRXs, RSXs, Del Sols Mitsubishi Eclipses, Lancers, Subaru Imprezas, however there are some domestics such as Chevrolet Caviliers, Dodge Neons, Ford Focus; small, slow, economy cars designed specifically to go slow. Please note that some 3000gt's Supras, Skylines, WRX's and other higher performance imports are designed to go fast, and are therefore not always considered rice, but it really depends on the severity of the case. Going to do the oil pump tomorrow but I have one question. Where do each of the oil pump bolts go. I bought a new set because during my last rebuild I broke one and I don't want to have to go through this again....

Looks good. Are those Wisco pistons and 3SX rods? I'm doing exactly the same thing and doing the oil pump, rear seal assembly and pan this weekend.
I'm not in a hurry, too many other projects. Did you install new oil jets? New ones cost only about $9.00 each at Mits with a discount. How much was the balancing? My machine shop charged $285.00 and it's within 1/2 gram. Are you balancing the flywheel and clutch assembly separate from the rotating assembly? Lay the oil pump on a flat surface and insert the bolts in the holes so they stick out above the oil pump and least 1/2 inch. Always measure the bolt hole depth too. I may be able to send a photo later in the week. |

My machine work got done for free because I go to an automotive school and it just so happens I had machine shop class now so I got to do the work myself (with help of instructor) I am going to balance them separately from the rotating assembly. A picture would be helpful if you get the chance. Thanks. |

Especially the pressure gauges. As you screw them in they will remove the paint going in and it heads right into the oiling system post filter.
