hmmm, any chance you could maybe implement a 4-5 digit enter your own baud rate thing into mmcd...that would be tits I would love you forever, and also that way if people do decide to install their own crystals as i have done it would work, its kinda odd that it doesnt work considering the crystal bob installs has the same frequency as the one i have or so it at least advertises on the crystal itself. Please...hehe

I have this problem with the latest version (1.8g) where the INJD is always low on the PDA. I was getting crazy knock problems with my new injectors because it only every showed 60-80% INJD when I was WOT at high boost.

All confused and dissapointed, i come home and hotsync. The value just to the right of INJP (should be INJD, but maaaaybe i'm missing something) is higher than whats on my PDA. I had tons of 90+ and 100+ numbers for those runs where my PDA only shows 70+ and 80+.

For instance, at one time i had according to PDA:

RPM 4812 INJP 19.7ms KNCK 13 INJD 78.9%

but on the excel spreadsheet pulled during the hotsync:

RPM 4813 INJP 19.71ms KNCK 13 INJD? 101

Is there a reason all of my INJD%'s are low on the PDA? all settings are at default. Even in overboost situations i never really saw above 80% on the PDA, but I should have been way above it (yeah i know; pretty high, just wanted to see what the new injectors could flow).

Haven't noticed anything new/wrong with INJD on latest version. I suggest you roll back to earlier version to see if you get same/different results.

Also, if you yank out your 4 function calculator you can easlily determine if the MMCd display is correct.

4813 RPM / 60 sec/min = 80.2 RPS Crank

80.2 RPS / 2 = 40.1 RPS Camshaft

1/40.1 = .0249 S Crankshaft period

.0198 / .0249 = .794 = 79.4%

Conculsion: MMCd display is correct.

Confirmed: MMCd Tools .2b is not doing any scaling on INJD (nor is it labelled INJD) It is just displaying raw count which is ~25% high. Nothing to do with 1.8g

1. Confirm that Galant VR4 engine is different numbering scheme from 6G72 so you are checking the right plug / injector.

2. You can try manually clicking on different registers using the debug screen. (Each time you click on a register it sends the code to the ECU) If you can identify correct registers let me know.

ok clint.... confirmed numbering as 1-3-5 front bank, rear bank 2-4-6 (looking at the stock plug wiring)

will check the debug and let u kno

From your earlier post with erroneous cylinder numbers, I am guessing that you were actually testing the #2 cylinder - based on your descrription of 4-5-6 in the rear bank and the cylinder on the "right side" (with you standing in front of the car?)

#5 is the easiest to check. Front bank - cylinder closest to the right front wheel. If speed doesn't change when you click on #5 in the logger test screen, please advise compression and plug condition. Also worth shorting #5 plug wire to ground or removing injector wire to see if speed changes.

(Do not leave #5 spark open as this will affect #2 and can damage wasted spark coils.)

speed changes when plug wire is removed on cylinder #5.... spark plug condition is fine, wont be able to do a compression test until later on tonight....dont think it is a compression issue though, becuz the car drives rock solid...i think it may be that the galant ecu is different in that aspect.?

Unfortunately, I am left with the sinking feeling that you removed #5 wire without shorting it which means you are also diabling #2 spark.....

(Please read earlier post..)
