Ignition upgrades; What is a good setup as far as our spark/ignition system on the turbo models? Any advantages to upgrading this area in terms of either more torque/horsepower or just overall efficiency compared to a fully functional stock setup? It appears that stock coils are comparable to MSD or Accel coils, anything out there that will fit in the stock location and be a significant upgrade? How much will the HKS DLI help or a boost a spark?

Just add water and shake

the HKS is a nice compact unit that is very easy to wire in. it taps right into your stock coil pack. i have the dejon tool individual intake pipes running blow-thru. i made a small alum plate and mounted it and my MAF-T where the stock air box bolted to the inner fender.
it will help with spark blow-out which i believe starts in most cars around 18-20psi. its pricey but much better than the boost-a-spark from what everyone says that have had both. im pretty sure you wont get a torque/hp increase, just a good strong constant spark. Nate

An upgrade I did on the ignition system on my Skyline was to fit the "wasted spark ignition system" by Driftworks and a set of Iridium spark plugs. This system could be adapted to fit the V6 engine on the GTO. I will be having a go at doing this on my '93 Mk1 TT once my broken heal mends.
