Default I car issues- n00b =[

Well I bought a 1992 3k vr4, started to have battery issues. Basically the car won't start, I had to get a jump from another car. Sometimes it would start for 2 second then the the engine would turn off. ( the radio and electrical stuff stayed on due to the turbo timer)

I took the battery to get checked at Autozone, it turned out it was no good, it was a Duralast Gold. I bought a new one that was cheaper same specs and same brand. Replaced the terminals and still had the same issue where I had to a jump from another car but, not as often.

The next day the I was fixing the radiator by applying some plumer's puddy(read it in a 3si.org forum) and unplugged the spark plug cables too look the spark plugs then put them back as they were.

I tried turning the car on and it did turn on, drove it for a bit and noticed that when i shifted from 1st to 2nd it would try to turn off. The radio, boost controller, and turbo timer would turn off and come back on. As i shifted to 3rd the car would go back to normal. When I press the clutch to down shifted to 2nd the rpm would stay the same or go up to 3000 rpm and stay even if i didn't give it gas. When I turned off the car, the engine would shut off, along with the radio, boost controller, and turbo timer, and all electrical(as if it were a car normal car).

I messed with the timer and got it to make the car stay on for 50 seconds after removing the key(like it normally did when it was in good working condition), but the now the car engine won't stay on. When I turn it on is stays on for about 2 seconds and turns back off and the electrical stuff(radio, boost controller, etc) stays because of the turbo timer.

I know this long but I wanted to make it as detailed as possible.
I am n00b with the vr4, if anyone has some suggestions or solutions they would be greatly appreciated.

OUCH!!! OMG MY EYES!!!

... Well first off it sounds like you really need to go over the car and figure out what needs done to it mechanically because it sounds like there is a lot of maintenance issues with the car.

I sounds to me like there is something going on with the ECU. Im also a newb but I've seen this kind of thing on dsm's and other cars and it was the ECU capsules that would blow out and cause problems like this so I would try to get that checked first. You also want to test the ignition relay which might be shorting out.
