hey, the previous owner of my car said that my car has 550cc injectors and a supra fuel pump.. i am not sure if this is true or not.. i was wondering if there was an easy way of telling if they are upgraded or not?? my avc-r says that my Inj is around 90% at low rpms and drops to 73%ish at WOT. i assume that is how much of the injector is free but im not sure. any advice would be grateful.
well, injectors you can tell on the front bank pretty easy... look at the color or if they are marked / branded.. fuel pump.. well you really need to pull it out to tell. I would guess the supra is louder then stock, so you maybe able to get an indication by ear, I have a walbro and you can hear that bitch outside the car... to tell for sure you need to look though

hmm.. my injectors are black with a hint of what looks like rust.. it had a number on it.. i think it was 195500-1370 i think.. those are denso 550s i think, so that would be correct.. the fuel pump isnt too noisy as far as i can tell.
avc-r isn't a fuel controller, it's a boost controller. so that % isn't injector duty cycle; you'd need a logger or something like an EMU/E-01 combo to display that.
what it's reading is just what the boost solenoid is doing, since the avc-r has rpm-based duty cycle maps... 90% at low rpm to hold the wastegates shut to spool up the turbos faster, but tapers down to 73% at higher rpms to prevent overboost.

i knew it wasnt a fuel controller.. but that makes sense now.. i also have the SAFC.. but that still doesnt tell me what i need to know.
just look at the fuel settings on the afc. if you're at roughly -35% across the board, you've got 550's in there. he'd be stupid to swap the stock injectors back in there and leave the leaned-out setting.
as for the fuel pump, the only real way to tell is to pull it out of the tank and see; the denso pumps are pretty quiet. the other "easy" way you could find out is dump race gas into your tank and pull the wastegate hoses. if you've got the stock pump in there, you'll swing lean and sputter/knock above ~17psi or so. not very safe, of course.

alright, i ran the number on the fuel injectors and it says they are denso 550s but the safc isnt -35% but it is running really rich. is it possible that the injectors are upgraded and the pump isnt?
the supra pump doesn't make as much noise as the "whine"-bro. that's why some select it instead of the walbro. why else pay twice as much for essentially the same power potential?

perhaps if you posted your safc settings, we'd be able to help you more easily. and yes, if you haven't checked it, it's always possible that something is or isn't upgraded.
