Default Engine missing after starting hot 20 -50 minutes

93 tt 76,000 miles. Car runs great, starts up fine when cold and starts up fine when hot within a few minutes. The problem is after the car is hot and it sits 20 minutes to about an hour the car will not idle, runs very rough, doesn't respond to throttle as it should. The only way to get past this is to keep pumping on the pedal for about 60 -90 seconds and then it will begin to clear up slowly. Anybody got any idaes?

Thanks,

Joe

My 91 TT does that also. I have just lived with it but my 75 911 targa did that once and it blew up the airbox. A Porsche shop put a mini BOV on the airbox to prevent it from destroying the box but it still backfires once when started hot. I'm interested in the answer to our situation also.

Same problem here.

Anyone who's been successful in diagnosing/fixing this problem please chime in!

If you haven't already done the emissions reduction, you can bypass the FPR solenoid and connect the FPR directly the plenum. That fixed the hotstart issue with my current Stealth.

Hellbringer- can you please describe (to the best of your recollection) exactly how that is done? I'm a TT newbie and haven't had much under-the-hood time yet. Thanks in advance

I have an Aeromotive AFPR and I still have the issue.

I remember someone bringing up something about the FIAV and all that, I wonder if it has something to do with it.
