I 2nd that, one bad turbo will cause the one good turbo to brow it boost thru the other and into the exhaust. Do you hear the spool up at all??? You boost controller solonoid up must be removed for more testing.

I disconnected the wastegates and no dice, still making 1psi or just 0. I can hear something spooling and whooshy turbo noises, but they aren't very loud.

I've done leak testing on three differnet weekends, always fixing a little leak here, or a vacuum line there, but never an intercooler or rear pipe o-ring or anything like that.

I checked wastegate operation last weekend, front only moved a bit (rusty) but i could hear the rear flopping open and closed.

I need to get in there to inspect the rear turbo asap it seems.

I bet the air is going backwards through the blown turbo, and thats why you don't find anything while pressure testing.

Its the strangest thing. I had my Supra Turbo for a long time, and never had a problem like this. You would think that having 1psi I'd have a boost leak the size of a small moon, but not so.

I'm going to have to dig in and check that rear turbo asap!

So I finally pulled off the rear intake pipe (its so tight back there, stupid design) and the turbo spins over smoothly if I move it with my finger.

So crapola, where does this leave me? I hear a lot of hissing from the left side of the car when I drive, is it possible the intercooler is leaking somehow and I can't find it on pressure testing?

I'm befuddled here

I did more boost leak testing. Watching the boost gauge it would eventually rise to 16psi with 20psi at the compressor regulator. Checked the intercoolers carefully, looked for leaks, can't find any, little ones behind manifold but thats it.

Both turbos turn over smoothly by hand, what the hell is wrong with this thing? Its been months now I've been trying to figure it out and driving it N/A style to work!

You are not alone with this, my car did this, drove with 0psi and then one day something popped and it has been good ever since. Jeff Lucius from stealth316.com observed this same trouble and never found the cause. How long have you been driving it like this for???

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this! I've been driving daily with this problem for almost 3 months now. I've been wondering if the rear exhaust manifold is jammed or something, I read a thread where a fella had the gasket jam up in the manifold.

I drive my 2.2 Celica and it feels So fast!

I've searched every thread I could think off for the problem, and I'm plumb out of ideas. I was thinking maybe a big manifold leak on the intake, but it doesn't seem to make that much noise. I can hear a smallish sounding leak from behind the manifold, I figure its a vacuum line of some kind leaking a bit, but nothing large enough to jusitfy it.

I was thinking of buying some 13g's, when I get my Celica back (on loan to my friend until his supra starts running) pulling it all open, checking the wastegates and every inch of the IC piping. I hear hissing when I drive, and tiny BOV noises, but its just not making it too the motor somehow!

It definatly was progressive in the boost loss though, 9psi, then 6psi, then 4 then 2 then 1 now 0psi, what does it all mean!

Pull the lines off your wastegates, plug the nipple on the y pipe. Take off your catback. Let her rip and see what happens.
