Just wondering from those who may know how would our vr4s and stealths with the Billet line DR650/750 turbo match up to the 2012/13 Corvette z06/ZR1 in an all out Drag.
The Z06 505hp/470torque vs DR650s
The ZR1 638hp/604torque vs DR750s
I understand the Chevy is V8 compared to our V6 but some of the numbers these turbos have produced is comparable to the V8.
Ive seen numbers from the dynos of the DR650s and DR750s so just trying to get an idea to make sure I don't go get left in the dust this summer by one of these cars thinking I had a chance or if I should even upgrade my DR650 and get the 750s. Or maybe its time to just get a new car.

Re: DR650/DR750 Turbo VR4 vs. Corvette 2013 z06/ZR1
no they aren't to the wheels, manufacturers never rate them that way.
The problems you are going to have keeping up with those cars are at least these:
1)They are about as close to 3000 lbs as we are to 4000.
2)Their engines are going to produce that power day after day consistently. They are also going to have broader powerbands and a stock one probably isn't going to pop its engine.
3)Their transmissions are going to be a lot more bulletproof.
4)Less drivetrain losses
5)Basically a tire swap away from launching as hard as us.
6)No old car issues
7)Infinite parts availability.
In the real world our cars do have many traction advantages, but on any kind of roll race you are going to have to be running full tilt to keep up.

A ZR1 is basically a modern day budget supercar, I think the only chance we would have would be off the line, from a roll I still dont think a DR750 would have what it takes

I would put a well built DR750 3/s car up vs a stock C6 ZR1 in a race from any speed to any speed.
The difference is weight is only about 400lb ~3400 with out driver vs ~3800 with out driver. The DR750 car with the boost turned up even on a bone stock motor is going to be making at least 50 more hp to the wheels, and on the street traction will be 2 totally different worlds.
I raced a few of C6 Zo6's in my DR750 stealth both from a stop and from a roll, both Stock ones and ones with different level of mods (all the way up to cars making stock C6 ZR-1 RWHP). All of the races ended in the Vet seeing my tail lights getting smaller and smaller.
What happens on the interweb and in keyboard warriors minds and whats happens in the real world are 2 different things. Also talk to Ray about the Corvetts he has laid to waist with his DR750 car.
Your also talking a car that you could buy and build for 25K vs a car that is 120K+
And I'm no corvette hater, in fact I Own a C4 ZR1 with NOS on it that has C6 ZR1 level of RWHP and it's no match for my DR750 Stealth even on the NOS.

One thing about those "fastest" times you always see on the CF, those guys go to tracks with the best track prep in the country, and also run those times when the DA is way into the negative. Most ever Mag tests the c6 ZR1 as a high 11 second car under normal conditions. and here at the altitude I live at they run lo 12's at best.
When mods come into play on the ZR1 things are going to change really fast, C6 ZR1's can get to 650 rwhp with bolt on's, and to 700+ with adding heads/cam to that.

Re: DR650/DR750 Turbo VR4 vs. Corvette 2013 z06/ZR1
Down here at sea level a well driven C6 Z06 traps 122-125 all stock. Which is what my old DR650 car trapped on pump/meth.
The billet 650's on a car thats running right should handle a stock C6 Z with relative ease. The new Billet 650's are a lot more turbo than my gen1 DR650's were despite having the same name.
A DR750 car with heads on pump/meth or e85 should handle a ZR1. Be a great race. Local here went 131mph bone stock(also owned the Z06 that went a best of 125).

Re: DR650/DR750 Turbo VR4 vs. Corvette 2013 z06/ZR1
People get all caught up in magazine articles. Fact is no bone stock car under a couple hundred grand is going to be faster than a well modded turbo car. People trap 130 in 16g dsm's, not to mention what a big v8 and some boost will do.
