Okay, I have been trying to decide on whether I should straight pipe or cat back my car. She is a 91 VR-4. Some of my friends say that the 3.0 will not have enough force for the straight pipes and that I should go cat back. The only thing is that I have the turbos, which should create enough force to keep the exhaust at a decent pressure. If I can get some suggestions, I would love it, because I am running almost blind on htis (first turbo car).
your best bet is a downpipe($330) & gut your cats (free). its alot cheaper & that should give you alot more bang-for-the-buck horsepower than a catback because right now you dont even need one, the stocker is fine and good till u hit 11's. spend your money sumwhere else like the MAFT/ls6MAF kit (410) and go from ther to other BPU stuff like a manual boost contoller from proboostmbc($18!!!).
pressure doesn't matter with turbo cars, you want as little back pressure as possible. I have an ATR dp with gutted kitties, test pipe, and pipes all the way back with no mufflers.
Cost ~400 for pipes all the way back from the downpipe with new tips, and 300 for the ATR. Sounds mean as hell.

ps. what turbos u got?
id probably go with that setup, it sounds most reasonble. the stock catback is fine until like 400HP, like AVEX said.
Can anyone give me ideas on where to get some decent pipes from? I'm stationed in Cuba, and don't have much time to research different companies.
get your downpipe from dynamic racing or 3sx. ummm for the catback your stocker is great for like 400whp..ummm if u really wanan get the borla is nice, or get a muffler shop there to weld one up. any place that does exhaust/muffler should be able to do a cat back ..its not that complicated. if i had a pipe bender id do one myself

A.) get a cheap test pipe and gut your precats
or
B.) get a stillen dp (eliminates main cat and front pre-cat) and just gut the rear precat.
Like others said, I wouldnt waste my money on a cat back..the stocker is fine (with what you have for now).
Look up 3sx, and dynamic racing for the dp's (or catbacks if you really want one).
