Angry Before I light my car on fire

I undertook doing the 60k and 3rd gen lifters myself. Long story short, A bolt broke off in the front head and I took the head to a machine shop. they got it out, I slapped a new head gasket in and continued reassembling stuff, no big deal I thought. I did the timing properly (trust me, I have checked the marks about 40 times. Front and rear square/triangle all line up and the crank little indent lines up with the fin on the oil pump.) I try to start my car, but it sounds like the timing is ass. It wants to catch every so often, but it's mostly just cranking sounds. I replaced the leaky caps on my ecu, and wound up replacing the PTU. I made sure that with piston 1 @ TDC the CAS mating marks were lined up. There is fuel, as every time I take the plugs out, my entire garage smells like gas. There is spark (correct me if my logic is wrong... I saw arc on all 3 front plugs and seeing as how each coil connects to a cylinder off of both the front and rear banks, then I should have spark on all cylinders.) There are no CEL's and every fuse (driver foot area, and each fusebank on either side of the engine near the front of the car) is good. I tried adjusting the CAS while cranking -> no change. Also, no start with the MAF unplugged. Am I missing anything, or is this car just cursed?

Did you put the exhaust and intake cams in the right place?

Are you sure you have the CAS in correct? If you did not put the alignment mark in the correct position your timing will be 180 degrees off!

yes about the cams - I labelled them and reinstalled them the same way
lol and yes about the CAS - put piston 1 to TDC and aligned mating marks in CAS...

no other ideas? I'm thinking that I'm going to rip out the plugs and make sure that they aren't fouled out or something silly like that. Short of that...I'm getting my lighter out lol.

If you are sure you have spark then it has to be Spark Plugs or timing. I would set the motor at TDC and recheck your CAS again. Make sure your at TDC compression on #1 at not set on TDC compression #4. If that is set correctly then there are specific mating marks on the CAS that have to line up in order to establish timing. For example the photo I provided shows the CAS set Incorrectly. The tab with the yellow arrow should be aligned with the notch on the upper part of the CAS not as shown in the photo.

yes that is how i put the beast. I line up all 5 timing marks (4 on the heads, 1 on the crank) indicating #1 TDC and then I put the slotted side (yellow arrow in pic) to the notch near the top right of the CAS.

On another note, the timing mark on the crank cog is the little dimple and it lines up with the 'fin' sticking out of the oil pump right?

Last unrelated question... I cut my timing belt off rather than just 'removing' it. dumb in retrospect. Could the spring tension/the cams snapping back have bent valves? It didnt even occur to me that they would fly back that hard...

1. Sounds correct

2. Yes

3. You should be OK. A compression check would verify.

If you are using the original ECU have you checked it for board damage (leaky Caps)?

Burn it.

Just Kidding.
Is the CAS wiring ok?
My buddy just did a TT conversion and it would not start after.
Checked the wiring finally and discovered that one wire from the CAS was cut from being pinched. He had NO SPARK tho.
I think if you do have spark then CAS is sending a signal to the ECU.
However, 95 SL may be different from a 91 GTO
