After I spun my vr4 off the road, it sits at 2k rpm at any speed above 7mph. 7 and under it idles like normal. If I am going above 7 mph, I can shut the car off in neutral, and start it back up, and it immediately jumps back up to 2k.
It seems like a computer confusion problem, because it drops immediately to normal idle once you slow down to 7mph. Any ideas? Ever heard of something like this? Could it be vacuum hosing leaks? |

NO. when you hit the clutch, it should drop to normal idle, 750 rpm or so.

Just put on factory 5-spoke 16" chromies, and a stock exhaust is going on next. 10" Eclipse sub in custom FG enclosure almost finished. Anyone need some cheap 18" Konigs with tires? |

Its probably caused by a failure in the ABS system, Is the ABS light on? That is exactly what happens when you disconnect the ABS fuse. It's not simple vacuum leaks or it would always idle high.

haha good job tim...you nailed it right on the head
after he slid off the road, i told him to pull the abs fuse cause our abs is retarded, uselesss and almost killed both of us in the snow a fair share of times we both thought it was a result of the accident, i didn't think the abs fuse would have anything to do with it is there anyway to disable the abs while not having that 2000rpm idle problem??

LOL didn't realize who it was at all. Yea the ABS can be a little retarded its a little overexuberent sometimes. If you leave the fuse in place and disconnect the speed sensors, or the main unit (located behind the pass side rear speaker panel), it should disable the abs without affecting the idle.

does this also happen when the car is in diagnostic mode (for example, running a datalogger)?
