Default Abs Light On?

Hey Guys....

Light won't go off. I changed the fuse located under the hood, was hopign that would do it.

Any ideas what else I can do to get the light off---have you guys heard of this before?

Tks for any inputs!

Tyson

have you checked to pump for cracks or leaks? my integra had a leak and caused the light to come on. on my 3000gt my light came on and all i did to get it to go away was turn the car off and start it back. does yours stay on all the time?

Could be the abs speed sensors in the hubs too.

If the abs motor (located behind and to the side of the passenger headlight ass.,)runs after the car is cut off, your abs motor could be stuck on. Mine had that happen (sounds like a buzzing after car has been cut off), I tapped it a few times with a screwdriver and it went off and hasn't done it since approx. 3 months ago.

Advise exactly when the ABS light turns on. (does the light stay off until you start driving?)

ABS control module does some diagnostics when ignition is turned (relays / contiunuity / fuses) but waits to test the HU until after the car is moving.

Motor stuck on is almost always the power relay. Easy to replace but a bit expensive ($125) MUCH easier than replacing the HU.

Thanks for all the feedback guys...I love this board.

TO answer a few of the questions:

(1) No noise after I turn off the car

(2) The light comes on with a slight flicker right after I start the car.
It stays on solid the whole time I am driving it.

I will try to unplug the battery---acutally had it unplugged a few months ago
when it died etc...and this is when it started acting up (or soon thereafter). Hopefully this will fix the problem.

Is the motor close to the fuse for the ABS? Just windering what it looks like, how I might know it is the ABS motor.

Thanks again,

Tyson

Please confirm that the ABS light stay on even if you never move the vehicle. (Points to connnector/rela/sensor problem, not HU motor which is tested after the vehicle starts moving)
