Hello and welcome to Gulf Coast 3S, serving the Gulf Coast communities of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle.
Why?
Once upon a time there existed a 3S chapter known as NO3S (New Orleans 3S), but unfortunately that chapter was washed away with Hurricane Katrina. Sad but true, this has rendered the Gulf Coast communities without a local serving chapter, keeping these communities in limbo between DFW/3S, GA3S, and FL3S. As far as I'm concerned, this just cannot do. A heavy 3S Enthusiast myself, as well as a member of Florida3S, I recently moved to the Gulf Coast region (Ocean Springs, Mississippi, right next to Biloxi) and found several 3S' and DSMs rolling around, but no chapter! Not anymore.
Where
GC3S is centrally located in Ocean Springs (Biloxi), Mississippi. This gives us the advantage of being smack in the middle between the 'territories' of DFW3S and FL3S, to provide the unfortunate displaced members of NO3S a home chapter once more. Furthermore, this is close proximity (20miles) from the Dragway in Gulfport, Mississippi. What does this mean to GC3S? Track days, Barbeques (on the Beach, mind you), beach cruises, and various other chapter and regional events.
Planned Events?
As I mentioned above, while running GC3S, I'm also still an active member of FL3S (Among other chapters which I help out, participate in events with, etc.). I spoke with several members over at FL3S and they like the idea of us helping turn Tampa Bay Gathering 2008 (TG08) from an FL3S Chapter gathering to a Southeast Regional Gathering (A more southern version of BRG, if you will). So look for that in the coming months, as well as participation in BRG08 and possibly a caravan drive to NG08.

Forums?
For now we're stuck on the South East Regional board here at 3SI until one of two things happen- we A) Get enough members and support for eKool and Alan to grant us the notoriety of our own board under the Chapter Listing (That will require traffic and posting to this thread by various members), or B) We get our own Web Server with board support (And unfortunately I'm stuck on Dialup at my house until Bellsouth stops being idiots and grants me DSL access, seeing as I am the ONLY PERSON on my street that doesn't have DSL, and can't get DSL due to "port being full"). Hopefully we can work it out for both of these events to happen in the near future.
Knowledge Base
Both myself and 3000Hybrid have EXTENSIVE knowledge to the platform (We both drive self-done N/A-T/T conversion), have experience on the SOHC and DOHC setups for N/A and T/T, as well as experience with ATX, N/A MTX, and GETRAG, experience with tuning, experience with electrical and mechanical work and troubleshooting, etc.
In the near future I'll expand my home garage to be able to support a variety of small projects up to engine pulling and rebuilding (Time permitting), while 3000Hybrid and I are still entertaining the possibility of obtaining an AWD Dyno down the road (Which naturally would be at discounted use for GC3S members).
Membership
For now, until we get a more organized system in the works, membership is performed by PMing myself and I'll add you to the GC3S Mailing List. Also, my personal e-mail address is chris_x_core@yahoo.com, albeit PMing is the prefered method. Also, like all chapters, membership is free (When we get our own exclusive board, we'll most likely have a paid membership section like most chapters have, although it will not be a requirement, which will probably run $10/year). Logos are also in the works (I'm entertaining the idea of using a Turbo with a Hurricane type design in the turbine, which in my humble opinion seems fitting given our geographic location.
Questions/Comments/Suggestions
As always, ANY questions, comments, suggestions, complaints, etc. are more then welcome. This is the first time I've attempted a chapter formation of this magnitude (3000Hybrid and I tried to get Plains3S off the ground in New Mexico, but there just wasn't enough support to get it going and self-sustaining like normal chapters). So anyone that can provide any help by the aforementioned, PLEASE hit me up and let me hear what you have to say.
Contact
If you have any questions or issues, mechanical, electronic, or just want to shoot the breeze, I can be reached at 228-243-7985 (My mobile, it's a Cingular/AT&T phone).
I'm looking forward to getting GC3S up and going and having this small crackpot commando-style Chapter grow into the next major REGIONAL chapter in 3SI history.
Lastly, 3SI members aren't the only ones welcome, we welcome all 3S and DSM owners, especially our BAWC brothers. Don't know what BAWC is? Don't worry about it. You BAWC members know who you are...
