Default Gauging Interest: Busch Gardens/Kings Dominion Run 2008

Like the title says folks, I'm putting together a little weekend of fun and action in Virginia. Busch Gardens: Busch Gardens Williamsburg - Home and Kings Dominion: Kings Dominion | Virginia's Premier Themed Amusement Park (Richmond) are two of the greatest amusement parks on the East Coast.

Both parks offer group rates of around $36/person for an entire day. Some of the packages include food vouchers, but I don't know yet if we will need them. It will all depend on how many heads we get.

I'm working on getting an awesome Group Rate @ the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel in Norfolk (it overlooks the harbor):

Hotel Exterior:

Exterior from water:

Single Bed Room (doubles are available):

Single w/ Harbor View:

Hotel Pool:

The rate will be $49/night + taxes after my corporate discount....split a few ways that isn't very expensive.

We could stay closer in Williamsburg itself, but the rate will be $83/night @ the Four Points by Sheraton Williamsburg Historic District:

Exterior:

Lobby:

Heated Indoor Swimming Pool:

Suite:

The choice is yours..caravan 30 mins and pay almost half the price, or stay local and pay more.

Here is my itinerary:

Thursday Night: Arrive @ the Hotel Dinner @ Hooters/BW3/etc
Friday: Kings Dominion!!!!
Friday Night: Party @ Local Hot Spots
Saturday: Busch Gardens!!!
Saturday Night: Mo Partying @ Local Hot Spots!

It would apply to any weekend starting October 10th and ending November 1st. I know there are some gatherings in October (Quickening/Maximal/Charlotte) but since those dates aren't set as yet I figured I'd give folks some choice as well, but personally I'm leaning toward October 16-19, 2008

So post up if you are interested so I can get cracking on this!

October is a busy month for GA3S. We take an annual Week Long trip to Key West for Fantasy Fest. It will be tough for some of us to make it... (time-wise and money-wise). I'll spread the word though this weekend. If it were any other time, it sounds great. Would love to travel up there.

Sweet bro! If enough people don't complain about the pricing, I'm going to book the closer but more expensive hotel.

I know, little hopper was telling me about that October is a busy month all around, but September = Too Short Notice and Early October = 3sPA meet Never enough time...it should still be fairly cost effective splitting it with a few friends.

Thursday is just for folks that want to come early so we can head straight to the park on Friday morning/afternoon. Driving from NJ to VA straight, then being at the park all day is going to suck Robb.

Sounds like fun. Not 100% sure if I can make it though.

I've been to Kings Island (Paramounts twin to Kings Dominion) in the past but never Kings Dominion.

I'll have to see what I can do.
