Default local shops?

after dealing with a couple bad shops, i think mabye we should start a list of shops to avoid..

in fbx

alaska auto care on pegar

had my stealth there once for a timing belt.. i carefully parked it in there lot between two large trucks so it could not be seen from anyone not on there lot locked the doors and gave them the keys, i drove by the next day, my car was parked on display in the front of there lot with the doors unlocked.

x ray motors

possibly the worst shop in town.. i brought my vr4 to them for tranny work, they saw were the tranny was, got scared and told me it was blown and needed replacedfor $6000.. i understand our cars are a bit more complicated than a corrola or a civic, if you cant work on it, tell me off top so i can take it to someone who can, i will respect you for that, but dont waist my time like that.

on the bright side, born again transmissions took the tranny apart and gave me an estimate for free in a timely fashion

anyone else have any shop horror storys?

Default Re: local shops?

Northstart; when they were backing my car out after installing an iPod cable to my deck; they were backing out of the garage and some old lady in an SUV love-tapped my rear bumper. I don't think the guy actually realized she hit it, and I wasn't sure because I was watching on the opposite side of where it hit.. but when I checked a couple minutes later sure enough there some some scuff marks right in that area.
