When will this price change go into effect? I priced out a set of similar tires and rims from a competetor's rack, and they were $400 cheaper including their shipping charge...(The exact same pair of tires were $26 more per tire at Discount..)

You will have to pay sales tax since you are a resident of TX. Unfortunately there is no way around that. I'm coming up with a total delivered price of $639.82. $48.76 of the total price is sales tax.
Who was it that had our price beat? |

Nah, even with the shipping deducted, and not counting tax, the tires are still ~$5 more than here...

I found many sets of rims that were cheaper than anything discount carries. |

From discount, with just the tires and the roadhazard I get the following final price:
Total "Out the Door" Price $901.51 From Tirerack, the 4 tires and roadhazard is: Grand Total: $685.74 Aparently, I'll have to go to discount tire to get these tires...tirerack will ship them right to my door. That's $225 more and I have to go pick them up. |

We certainly have a break down in communication. I have a feeling you are referring to the local Discount Tire Store. Their price very well could be higher. I am with Discount Tire Direct. i thought mounting and balancing was $13.00 a tire? I work at txh_66 as an apprentice tech, and havent seen the labor prices that high, ever, especially if you buy the tires from discount tire company.
