Greetings from the Philippines. Got here last June 15 to visit my ailing Dad.
Here's a series of pics I took while staying here. First, the mode of transportation. The kind you don't see everyday in the States. ![]() Willy's Jeep: They used this back in WWII. We had one that lasted 40yrs. ![]() Old School Toyota Landcruiser: The workhorse 20yrs ago here in the Philippines. Now it's replaced by the Mitsubishi Pajero(Montero in the US). ![]() Another Willy's Jeep that is modified to carry more passengers. ![]() The Tricycle: Public Transportation you can find in the smaller cities/towns, and or smaller streets of the big cities like Manila. ![]() Bike riding cop: Lol. Notice the helmet. ![]() Mitsubishi Pajero: 2.5L/2.8 Turbo I4 engine. I drive the maroon one. ![]() The blue Pajero in action. We went to a lake on top of the mountains. And yes, both Pajeros have blown turbos. ![]() Me(blue shirt) and my cousin paddling on the lake. We ate lunch in a floating cottage. ![]() More on the ff posts below. Thanks for looking.

Happy kids. Innocent but sincere smiles and laughter.
These kids gave me alternative entertainment for 3 days while the power was out caused by Typhoon Frank. The littlest one would let me tickle her for 2 mins, for 5 pesos. The three little boys, I'll ask them general info questions, whoever gets the answer gets one peso. But not before giving the most out of this world answers that sends you bursting into laughter, coz I ask them in english. At the end of the day, they probably get 50 pesos each. Good for a week worth of snacks in school.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by shaker69 : 07-10-2008 at 02:43 AM. |

Kamusta Ka Na?
The Phils are nice for photos. If you get to travel the Chocolate hills in Bohol are nice, and the island of Boracay is very beautiful. A little known fact is you can buy an authentic balisong knife from Balisong near Bantangas in Luzon. I am sure you can find them all over if you can not make it that far North. Don't forget some pictures of all those crazy tricked out Jeepneys. :P Stay Dry.

Stay dry? Hehe. I just played in the rain for an hour while I was in Leyte, without fear or less fear of getting struck by lightning. ![]() |
