MY old c2100 and the IS2 have Panaroma modes.

The c2100 had guide lines the IS2 actually shows the trailing edge of the last image to help you line it up. Then the software on the PC does the work of merging the seperate images.

You don't need any mode to do it. Just some software and free time..

You can't beat the view from the top of a Glacier. We had to take a chopper to get up there.
