Rockin' AEM in winter
|
I was going through some older photos last night when I came across these. I love Minnesota! It's so pretty and there are so many wonderful things to do outdoors!!
During Christmas 2006, I brought my fiance home to the parents. He usually gets pretty bored up there, but my dad told him he could take the Polaris out and do donuts on the lake. At one point, my brother and him had a gentlemen's competition to see who could do the most continuous donuts before stopping or falling off! I think my brother won with something like 22 rotations.... ![]() ![]() ![]() This is the same lake a year earlier at Thanksgiving in portrait and landscape renditions just for fun. ![]() ![]() This is the view on a winter's night from my parents' deck facing the lake. ![]()

I don't even know if it has a name. It might, by nobody ever uses it. It's really just a glorified pond. I think it may be springfed, but when the county put a road in the area, they didn't use a culvert and blocked it off from where it used to flow. It used to have planted fish (panfish mostly), but since it's not very deep (20feet at the deepest?), hard winters can cause it to freeze out.
It's really nice though because there are only three houses (my parents', my uncle's, and my grandmother's) on it and the rest of the land is state forest. So it's pretty private! |
