pic 1 - this would have worked if the background was blurred out. next time, try using a larger aperture. the subject (to me) is pretty obvious (nice bright colored red circular seat), the background just doesnt do it justice. you followed the rule of thirds here quite well - subject is off center in the lower third of the shot.

pic 2 - very nice depth of field. had you followed the same with #1, it would have been better.

pic 3 - nearly made the mistake of getting everything dead center. good thing part of it (the red hand) is at the uppermost part.

pic 4 - the Viper really stands out. bright colors and muted periphery. the tree actually frames the car quite well. only distracting part is the word "sharp" but otherwise this is the best of this series.

pic 5 - the branches floating in mid air on the upper right are too distracting. id clone them out to finish off this frame.

I didn't even see that pic at first. Another good one. If you want to get photoshop crazy, maybe try fixing all the grass in the foreground, get rid of the white stuff and fill in the dirt? I don't think the trees need leaves, it would be too distracting... but the lack of grass is kinda distracting.

Great framing, interesting angle, good exposure, etc.!

the "white stuff" is actually leaves and they add to the composition of the photograph. what does the grass need "fixing" for? its a shows good contrast and perfectly illustrates the rule of thirds quite well. fill in the dirt? dont think the trees need leaves?

man, do you really know what you're even saying or talking about?

Awesome series Dave! Really great for a P&S! The turtle pic is my favorite. You have a most excellent eye for Comp

No..he doesn't. David's $200 P&S just owned his $1,600+ worth of equipment. Why? Because David listens and learns. Before you give advice Jeremy, maybe you and Tiff need to learn to take it without deleting the thread.
