Canon 5d vs. Canon 40d

I'll have to look at the 10-22... we already have the Tamron and the L- 70-200.

I wanted to stay away from the EF-S lenses because I think in the next year we'll be going for the new 5D... I don't think the EF-S will work on the 5d.

no it won't, but if you pick up a 10-22 used you'll be able to sell it later for about the same price you bought it for, lenses don't depreciate much in value unless they get replaced with a newer model
