I decided to stick with the 400d over waiting on the 20d because I don't plan on having this much longer; thus longevity wasn't an issue. It's a good solid camera Sean. If it can survive a year of being carried to work everyday in my satchel and still look new then it can take being used occasionally with no problems. If you go 400d buy the body ONLY and buy the 18-55mm IS version of the kit lens: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc..._5_5_6_IS.html I find it to be the best non-L lens I've used thus far for shooting cars and close action where I need a wider shot. |

I considered upgrading to that Sean, but for the money..you might as well go with the 40d. The XSi is often described as a baby 40d and even supports live view. But it is REALLY REALLY SMALL in comparison to both the 40d and 400d (physically smaller). I am looking to sell my 400d for at least 500 w/ the lenses..that should free up some decent lens money for the 40d.
