I have a Nikon D40, but pics taken with the XTi's always impress me. In fact, a store in town had an XTi on sale a few months after I bought my Nikon, and if I was still at my old (read: higher paying ) job I'd have both now

the SD series is a great lineup. I bought my brother an SD870IS for christmas (mainly because of the 28mm capability). I just stocked up on gear since I do weddings and other things on the side

to answer the OP's question

how much are you willing to put towards lenses?
If you aren't willing to dedicate quite a bit of money to it, you might as well get a high end point and shoot camera like a canon G9 or S5 IS, because the kit lenses that come with DSLR's are less then stellar, same with the other low end lenses

put it this way, you won't find decent lenses for less then $350+

maybe....let me know how much ur selling it for


maybe ill go with macky's suggestion of getting the body and then that additional lens for now...then after i get the hang of it shell out some $ for a really good lens

I've just about gone as far as I am going to go with this line-up. I'm going to focus on my Post skills and upgrade. Make a fair offer, or ask one of the guys what you think it's all worth. I'm getting rid of everything and I'd rather a friend have it than some stranger on Egay. You've all seen some of my stuff. Some like it and some don't. Most of it came from my work horse aka the kit lens

lol a while back. i went on a spending spree

sad thing is I may need to sell the 1D to help my grandfather at home (phils). his home burned down and we are sending help. to make matters worse, his elder sister passed away (non-fire related) shortly thereafter in a different part of town.
