Question camera help.

Im looking for good camera that also takes good video. Looking in the 300-400 dollar range more the 300-350. but i want something that takes really good pictures with good night stability.

the one i have now only takes night vision if you use a tripod otherwise it blurs everything. also will be used to upload video content for my web page that i will be starting. i also like photography so would like to use it to take some pretty breath taking pics.

I know thier are alot of very smart photo guys here so help me out. i was currently looking at the cyber-shot and a panasonic, and cannon. if you guys could help with what i should look for or models numbers you guys suggest. would like some with differnt lenses or something like that.

thanks again for the help

Get a Canon Powershot ELPH. they take great quality stills (for a point and shoot) and they have a night mode on them,

although for any night pictures you'll need a tripod, it doesn't matter, it just takes more light to make an exposure, so it takes more time, and the camera needs to be steady. You can change the ISO to a higher number, and it will let you take a quicker picture (faster shutter speed) but its going ot be way more grainy.

Invest in a tripod for your night shots, they are like $30

The powershot's also take pretty decent video.

I recommend the SD750, it has a large screen on the back (2.5 or 3 inch) 7.1MP and is really small and nice looking
. it is a slightly older model, so its alot cheaper now, but i still love the quality and the looks.

http://www.amazon.com/Canon-PowerSho...5463507&sr=8-1

if you still wanna spend a little more money, the SD890 is new, and is $399

I love my powershot SD400 for point and shoot, its small and i can take it anywhere.

I break out the Rebel XTi for my serious stuff though

*EDIT* If you want something with changable lenses, you're going to need to spend more money. the Canon Rebels are a great place to start with an SLR camera.

was looking for something like these types. what do you think

or this

http://cgi.ebay.com/Canon-PowerShot-...QQcmdZViewItem

or

http://cgi.ebay.com/PANASONIC-LUMIX-...QQcmdZViewItem

this is more of the type i was leaning toward. just dont know whats the better sensors and internals of these to look for and if they all have the same video qaulity also needs to have sound too.

let me know what you guys think

Ah yeah, go with the Canon. Thats sort of a mix between the elph's and the SLR's. kind of somewhere inbetween. its not a true SLR, so it will do your video for you, and the lens on that is much nicer than a compact camera's lens, so your pictures are going to look alot better.

If you are looking for the price of a point and shoot, but want a littler better quality in your image, and dont care that its a little bigger, (no changeable lenses though) i would get one of those.

Although, if you save up you can pick up a Rebel

If you mean video, no.

No SLR camera is going to do video. but SLR's are great for still shots, and you have alot of flexibility with many different lenses to choose from.

but thats why i have 2 cameras. 1 as an every day camera to take places and shoot little videos, and the other as a high-end camera.

I concur. I am also a lover of Canon. I've spent alot on their stuff, and it's still not enough. MArk, I think you'll be very happy with a Canon.
