I will also ask them to see if it is possible to make the wing more sturdy on the car. The problem I see may be in the initial design. If the wing is made completely solid or at least close to solid, the wing would be too heavy and not be worth installing on your car. If the wing is solid or braced enough, the wing will crack like you are describing. We can make a high quality wing that will hold up but how many people would actually buy it? We would need to see at least 10-20 of dedicated members willing to go in on a group buy and put down a deposit before production could start. Just let me know if anyone has any questions and I will keep my eyes on this thread and chime in from time to time with any updates and answers.

How about some aluminum support braces inside the wing? I may just buy one and do it myself. Or fill it with some of that gooey insulation stuff or whatever they call it.

I don't know how well this will go over but... you could make the center section made out of carbon fiber (like the evo's wings) they are pretty sturdy and lighter plus it doesn't block your rear window as much The center section being made out of fiber would make it lighter and i don't believe it will flex as much causing it to keep up with the stress of higher speeds.

Hollow CF will flex almost the same as fibreglass. Make a skeleton structure out of cf beams like they do on aeroplane wings thats the best solution.
But also the most expensive...

the evo wing isn't hollow, its just a simple flat piece of CF that stretches the way across. if it was hollow it wouldn't help you see any better than the fiberglass fin.

I was thinking about the '99 VR4 wing which is an inverted airfoil, not just a flat piece. Who said anything about Evo wings anyway?

Also, one thing to note it is likely a lot of the cracking/fatigue problems on the replica wings was likely caused by a shotty install. Since if the holes were even 1/8" of an inch off, once tightened down it will cause constant stress on the wing even w/o the flexing of the wing underload and over bumps and what not.

The only really good way to make the wing is well, gonna be expensive so its unlikely there will be much if any savings over buyin an OEM wing except for a pound or two in weight savings.

For what its worth, the demographic on 3si doesnt support a 900 dollar OE quality replica wing to make it work producing them imo. not to knock anyone, but its true, a 1 thousand dollar wing is, well, a thousand dollar wing lol.
