Hello Fred,
Thanks for your feed back on the system. The RS-232 cable is used to update the system software when new releases are available. Updates are free and we will be releasing version 1.9.7 this week. Send me an email to tech@labontemotorsports.com and I can email you the update. The software version will be shown in the lower right corner of the display screen for a few seconds on power up. The Horse Power parameter on the setup screen is used to calibrate the system. Just need to enter your estimated FWHP. Second part of calibration is the initial Gain setting on the Monitor screen. Once installed use the Peak mode to capture your Max IDC, for example from a third gear pull. If your max IDC is say 85, initial Gain is (80-85) = -5. If your max IDC is 60, initial Gain is (80 - 60) = +20. Set the Start Psi to about 1/3 of your max boost. Tell it the exact nozzle you have installed. If it is an M6 or M8, does not matter, the system knows the flow rates of the nozzles and will automatically adjust. Once set up, all fine tuning can be done with the Gain on the Monitor Screen. Increasing Gain will increase the flow rate and lower (richen) A/F. And just the opposite for decreasing gain. Once the system is set up, no need to change the hp setting, unless you make major modification to the car, larger fuel pump, injectors or such. Yes, FWHP is fly wheel horse power. A close estimate is all that is needed. You can use the Gain adjustment after that to fine tune if needed.
You can do a pull to log max IDC. Don't expect the average person to know this. This is also a good way to test the system out to see that everything is connected correctly. As long as the max flow rate of the nozzles is equal to the input you are good to go. For 4 M3 nozzles enter M6 for Noz1 and Noz2. Let me know if you have more questions, be glad to help.
