Default Reactions to our cars

I thought I'd just put this out there. I've had some really interesting reactions to the GTO.

Last week a middle aged guy in a Territory Turbo pulled pulled up next to me at a set of lights, gives the car the once over and then the lights turn green and he absolutely hammers the Territory I couldn't believe it.

Went down to Busselton on the weekend, about 400k round trip, I was doing about 120 on a long open stretch of dual carriageway and a Camray slowly caught me. No big deal the cops absolutely hunt on that piece of road so up to 10k over is only a fine and maybe 1 point. Anyway family of 4, mum dad and kids and they give me a look as if to say they can go faster? I did feel like giving it a bootfull but I thought my licence was more important.

Kids are the best I get heaps of thumbs up and signals to do burnouts.

I can't do anything though because the car is so recognisable I get told by people at work "I saw you at ...... on the weekend in your car" and they all think you were driving fast. Just cause you get to the limit quicker than anyone else doesn't make it fast.

Lots of fun though watching peoples reactions.

I told told by someone who I mistakenly though was a friend, that my car is a rice car and was on fast and furious...he does not actually have a licence nor a car.

in syd you don't get much attention (fine by me)..so many GTR's and other imports giving them a bad name.

my favorite reactions are the ...
Person: "What is that a 2000 somthing?"
Me: "No, its a 93"
Person: "@*%$%!!!"
always love that one. ive also gotten "nice corvette", and this one time i watched a bus go by and one of the kids on the bus turned his head so quick to see my car he slammed his head into the window of the bus. LMAO!

and everyones favorite is obvously the dissapointed look on the owners of the riced out civics that allways try to pull on us....GOOD LUCK!

You always get a second look no matter where you are.

Country towns are great - went home to visit family and friends in the middle of Victoria recently. Jap imports stand out in the usual crowd of utes and Commodores.

I had a guy ask me if it was a Ferrari at the local servo. Silly buggers.

Kids in busses are great - they're always wide-eyed gawking out the windows.

P platers in shit-box cars always try and drag you.

Had a few over time, thing i love about the gto is unless your into cars, most have no idea what it is... Plenty of thums up from the asian community, who love jap cars lol

Chicks love the the car

One guy said the front looks similar to the new corvette c6

Everyone has always over stated the value of the car when guessing also..

When stoped at the lights ppl read the specs written on the doors or look at the brakes.

When i had the 1st gen, one guy commented that its the quickest car in Grand Truismo 1, brings back memories, i think thats where i first started liking the GTO lol

your right the new c6 does look pretty similar..

good thread.

* get lots of stare when your going past walkers before you get to them and even after 500m down the road still turned around looking.
* mouth drops, fingers pointing, from telling the person there with look at that.
*can even sometimes tell what they say "what the ***K is that?.

*favourite the girlfriend looking and the b/f trying not to look at it..

always, like mentioned above think its 2000 up car and cost over 30k.
dont ever think i've had someone try race me and i'm on the gold coast weird..

I remember the good days of GT1! It was the only the car I used after I could afford it haha. I sure wish they'd bring it back in GT4
