GTO pre-cats???

Wondering if anyone can confirm if the JDM GTO has precats?

Yes, it has 2 precats after each turbo located along the downpipe.

I have been told that the JDM spec cars do not have "pre-cats"...though some say yes...need a real answer (sigh).

I can tell you that my car is a 99 Z16A GTO and was completely stock when i got it, it had the 2 pre-cats which i threw in the bin when i changed the exhaust system.

However emissions laws got tougher in the later years so maybe that's the reason my 99 had it, in which you may not see on a 91, just a guess tho.

What are you trying to find out with the pre-cats anyway?

my 96 has the space for them but they are empty...no signs of anyone removing them either.

I was under the impression that JDM GTOs had no pre cats. My 1998 JDM GTO didn't have them...

I saw Vr3.9 GTO RHD front clip and it did not have pre cats

JDM spec GTO's do not have them.
