there wont be any performance differences between the 2 materials. its merely just a matter of what is more cost effective to produce. and steel is much easier to work with as well.
its not so much that aluminum is colder than steel... it just dissapates heat faster, but its not enough to make a performance difference. lots of companies use steel for there plenums. its kind of a trade off. aluminum heats up way faster, but loses the heat faster... where as steel takes longer to heat up and then also takes longer to lose the heat. also our welders told us that its easier for them to create a nice strong weld with steel and in the long run steel will hold up to stress and expansion much better than aluminum.

1st option = composite
2nd option = aluminum 3rd option = steel Any chance of #1?? We would all be happy then!! The best of everything!

I'm in.
I have both a stock car, with nothing more than a single cat back, and a full blown race car to test them on. Plus a dyno 3 miles away. Keep me updated. Erron S.
