hood modification isnt a biggie. i just didnt want to cut a hole in my hood. has anyone measured actual hood clearance with the "skeleton" part cut out? i think i might do that. get an actual measurment from the lower plenum to the hood without the hood skeleton around the plenum area. would that be helpful?

also. we spent all day trying to figure out a way to make a plenum that woudl actually be benificial to the car and still clear the hood while having a drivers side Tb and im sad to say its just not going to happen. even on teh passenger side without removing the fill neck it just cant be done like what people want. it would have to be less than 6 inches wide and less than 2 inchess tall to even fit under the hood, and then you have the tb to deal with the fuel rails, the fill neck, the hood liner, just lots of things that dont make it possible.

we will continue to do our short runner manifold to access the rear plugs, but the super short plenum on top of the lowe intake just isnt going to happen unless people want to modify the hood. we will make them for people on a special order basis only. and we can even do them out of aluminum.

so... from now on. we will be focusing on doing the regular plug access plenum only.

thanks,
chris
thats cool chris I think I have pics of the box type installed with no problems with the coolant neck but it dont matter your other intake looks good too

hood clearance without the skeletal supports wont make much difference, and its not just the height between the plenum and hood. there are others things that makes this difficult.

if anyone wants one and doesnt mind cutting a hole out for the plenum and then covering it witha scoop or something, then thats fine. I can make them on a special order basis. as for rusting. the aluminum wont ever rust, and the steel version (if anyone even wants one) will have a rust proof coating.

also just so people know. there really wont be any gains by doing this plenum over our other plenum. if the only reason people want it is so the TB is on the drivers side then i can put it over there with our other plenum. its not hard to put it on whatever side.

i was thinking the same thing.. if people need the tb on the drivers side, just switch on your original design. easier for anyone.

yeah that would be good. that design also looks god for the drivers side throttle body guys because throttle body flange can simply be switched. can anyone tell how much shorter the runners are than stock? is that as short as they can be? it seems from all the reading i have done on aftermarket plenums says that our runners are way too long
