ok little update. i worked on a top mount plenum the other day and i tihkn i came up witha nice basic design. ill post up some pics tommorrow. but just wanted to let people know.

also some important things... the hood will not close with this style plenum. i hope everyone knows this. you will need to modify or swap out or some other variation in order to create proper hood clearance.

also... this will have the TB on the drivers side. and it will require the removvl of a sensor on the bottom of the throttle body where the coolant lines run in and out. its not a vital part and most people remove this anyway. but i just want everyone to know.

ok so thats where im at.

oh also... i just got some more pipes in, so i will be making some plenums hopefully this week and having them welded up.

hopeing to get about 5 of these things sold off here around the end of the month. if i cant get that, then i probably wont be making anymore for a while.

thanks,
chris

oh not enought o matter really. might lose a little torque down low, but it should help your top end a bit.

i am SOOOO in for pics i will but this thing for sure pending pics! this sounds like just what i want. how much does it hit the hood? do you think if the "skeleton" part on the underside of the hood was cut that it would clear?

im pretty sure it will require a hole in the hood or a huge scoop to cover it all up. i tried to keep it as compact as i could but ther just isnt anywhere near enough room under that hood.

thanks,
Chris

how will it attach to the lower manifold? do the bolts go completly through the plenum? do you need someone to test fit it for yah? for clearance/durability? do you have any pics?

I take back what I said about wanting a dyno for a TD04 car. I just got a set of DR1000s....now let's dyno a big turbo set.

Still in for dyno results....

it will bolt up just like a stock plenum. we have made a flange for it to sit on and the tubes will hold the surge tank up away from the bolts allowing clearance for all the bolts and 2 side nuts. it will install very very easily. the only issue is the hood clearance. and the IC pipes routing to the TB. this will need a cutom intercooler and setup. we are designing the TB plate to use a stock TB however, it will still require some modification to make everything work (piping wise).

thanks,
chris

p.s. im an idiot and forgot to get some snaps of the plenum in progress. so ill have to get some tomorrow. ill make a note and hopefully i wont miss place it

well on our car using a stock 91 stealth ES hood it looks to hit by about 2-3 inches. however with a 1.5 inch hood cowl it might be enough clearance. i really cant say at thsi point as we dont even have one welded up yet.
