THIS IS NOT A SUPERMAC COLD AIR BOX !

I just wanted to post and say that these are a great idea, and have been proven to get you small gains (5 to 10 hp I believe)

You guys should get in on Supermac's offer.

Hope you don't mind me posting this pic. It's just to give more of a perspective of what's out there.

Hey, no problem. Just be careful not to do what the moron's did when they built mine - RIGHT ON TOP OF THE POWER SUPPLY! Aluminum cutting thru electricals = car stalling at 40 mph and complete loss of power AND engine bay on fire!

Power supply? You mean fuse box? Or the battery?

From the battery. Which is now mounted in the rear - due to the FMIC.

Does this intake box use the bolt holes in the bay already or need tapping/threading?
Is there any proven way to duct air in through some homedepot piping to rush cold air into the box?? Lemme know roughly how you did this if anyone has before.
Im interested.

Scotty where did you get that and will I have to relocate the battery if I got a similar setup?

I can't speak for supermacs setups, but it's hard to get pipe work thru from the front bar to the box. There's just no room. My box was a custom job. I'm getting a new one made as this one had to be cut apart due to the fire. The battery had to be moved on mine due to the plumbing. I think moving the battery to the rear is a good move regardless of whether or not it is in the road. You know how little room there is. Clear out what you can.

yeah our kits stay away from teh battery cables. i would recommend putting something around the wires anyway just for added protection, but you really wont need it.

on the non turbo cars its pretty easy to direct airflow into the box. and if your creative you can cut a hole into your fender under the filter to allow more air in. the turbo guys are pretty limited to space.

a cold air just relocates the filter into colder air. this seperates the hot air and secludes the filter is cold air. both do the job of getting cold air into the intake. just this is an easier way to do it.

the only real advatage to a tube style cold air is that you can funnel air into it through the bumper and also do a ram air style filter. but thats only in places that dont have rain.
