For months I've had a really irritating slight squeal when I brake sometimes, and a bit of steering wheel rattle at speeds above 50ish mph. Checked the pads, blah blah, no problems.
A couple months ago, I ordered the SuperCar Engineering caliper stiffening bolts here (Supercar Engineering. Set them on my "need to install sometime" shelf as I always seem to do. Last night, I finally installed them. The brake pedal feel is night and day! Much firmer, much nicer. I can't believe I waited so long to install them. It eliminated the squealing noise, even though I didn't replace the pads. It also greatly reduced the steering wheel rattle, which I think could have been the pads rattling against the rotor. They had a good bit of play with the loose stock pad retaining bolts. The stock pin and little mini-paperclip retaining clips are definitely junk to me now. And at under $25 this is a must-have mod for sure! ![]() Thanks for another great product Philip/SCE.

I was thinking about getting these but I have a first gen so the bolts are just held in by a wire instead of nuts. I saw on the website that the first gen ones don't have the rear bolts so would they still increase stiffness or will they just be utilizing the safety wire.
