Dang it! That was on the first post, how did I miss that?
Oh well, do not forget that some dynos may not work with this torque split.

I wonder which ones....I thought the ones that can't rear each drum independantly lock the two drums together? Never been on a dyno so I don't know...

I never paid too much attention it myself because these cars normally did not have to worry about that sort of thing. I do know that our SuperfFlo dyno at 3SX will work with it. LSE has the same dyno we do if I remember correctly.

Nope, We had a DynoDynamics. It ran the drums separately, no link at all, but was capable of handling power splits just fine since it reads power on both axles and adjusts the load appropriately. You could see the power split of a stock diff as well.

Philip any idea when you'll be able to produce some 18 spline versions? I have my tranny out at the moment and I'm ready to pull the trigger on a front LSD and the center dif..
Reason I'd prefer the 18spline version is I really don't want to have to switch to a 25 spline setup because the cost would go up significantly. In addition, if I was to swap bellhousings I'll have to re-shim the transaxle to get the bearing clearances in spec. I've heard this a major PITA if you don't have the "special tools".

Prime12 - If your vcu is totally fried, then you will get sever front wheel spin on a launch even with good tires. If you have bald crappy tires, then you will most likely get wheel spin anyways. This usually results in crappy 2.0+ 60' times at the track. You can put the car up in the air and hold both front wheels steady, drop the TC, and turn the output shaft. If it spins really easy, then the VCU is either popped, or on it's way out. There will be some resistance due to the other center parts that are rotating with the shaft, but short of a partial tranny tear down this would be the easiest/fastest way. |
