You will get a big pat on the back because nobody has ever broken a 300M shaft. Then I will send you a new one for a small fee.

No more DSM...

Where I live, we have snow for about 5-6 months a year, my mainly concern is not about holding on the drag strip, but improve winter driving safely. Would it be significant to go ahead with center diff (and fr. diff, kazz...) ?

I'm banking on that it will improve winter driving safety. At the moment, my car is undriveable in the winter (with summer tires on). One blip of the throttle and then I'm instantly going sideways. At the very least I'm going with a front LSD and the center diff.

Usually stronger LSDs will actually make low traction driving worse.
Instead of spinning the low traction wheels it will turn the wheels that do have traction and this will put the car sideways. If you don't believe me look at a drag car with a spool. If they catch traction harder on one side than the other they are heading for the wall as the side with traction tries to walk that side of the car around.

couldnt you just counter steer to stop the extra traction on the wheels that have better grip? but i dont see the center affecting the front and rear from side to side, just front to back telling it where to go. so if you leave your stock f/r diffs you will be fine in the snow?

Get snow tires if that is what you are after. This diff is designed to improve track performance and I am sure it will. |
